sunday night beauty routine.

When I was younger one of my favorite games to play was teacher. I would create periods and have my little cousins participate in my history, music and gym classes. I even created somewhat of a beauty course, where I used my Barbie CD-rom Fashion Designer game to create a magazine article where I had my cousins read out beauty tips. I’m not sure why a 12 year old was giving beauty tips to 8 year olds, one of which included my male cousin whose turn to read had him reciting that he needed to wash his makeup off before going to sleep, but we’ll roll with it... I decided to dedicate my first blog entrance to my younger self and share my Sunday night beauty routine, which includes two beauty tips.

I don’t know about you, but by the time Domingo is almost over, I feel like I need to treat myself to a face and hair mask to prep my skin and hair for the long, hectic week ahead. Lately I’ve been gravitating towards a more natural and easy routine, and it doesn’t get any more easier than just plain ol' raw organic honey and organic coconut oil.

Beauty tip #1 organic coconut oil can be used for everything from cooking to a moisturizing hair mask. I've tried just about every tratamiento known to woman and I've found that the most natural products have moisturized and made my hair the shiniest. Recently, I've really enjoyed using coconut oil to hydrate my chemically treated hair and it's worked wonders. This product melts with natural body heat so all you have to do is scoop out the oil and warm it up in your hand before applying. I prefer to keep it as organic as I can, but you might like to pop a bowl of coconut oil in the microwave to liquify it. Work the oil from the tips upward, avoid putting on your roots and leave this on for an hour.

Beauty tip #2 raw organic honey is antibacterial, which removes any debris from the skin, but also moisturizes dehydrated skin. Since my face is rather dry from a medicated acne cleanser I use, the miel really soothes my skin and removes any redness. I like to scoop out a small amount with a teaspoon, rub it all over my face avoiding the eye area and leave it on for an hour. If I feel I have blackheads on my nose, I pop on a biore nose strip before slathering the honey to pull out those unwanted blackheads that keep my makeup from looking flawless.

And lastly, after I wash the honey off my face and coconut oil off my hair in my shower, I like to put on some comfy pjs and give myself a mani/pedi. By the time Monday morning rolls around, I not only feel refreshed, but feeling like I look bella at work puts a little pep in my step and makes me approachable, even before my first cup of café.
